Genevieve Koh

When Genevieve Koh, associate pastor for junior high, arrived at LLUC on October 6, 2009, she brought with her energy appropriate for the task. She has trained for triathlons, is avid about beach sports, and has vigorously explored the world during a student mission assignment in Puerto Rico, and on various mission trips to Belize, Honduras, Mexico, and on a Caribbean Cruise with a Mission. Included in her vision for our youth is Pastor Koh's passion about empowering people for God. She explains the genesis of her vision:

"The first year after I graduated from PUC, I was working at a job that I wasn't passionate about and felt that I was not making a difference in the world. Through a series of promptings from the Holy Spirit, I was finally open to what God had to say to me about my future. I realized that I wanted to empower people for God. I didn't know what that meant, or what type of career it would be, or what type of education I would need to get, but that was it, empower people for God! Following that, I attended Andrews University for seminary and am currently empowering seventh and eighth graders here at LLUC."

Now with pastoral experience at Crosswalk Church (1 ½ years) and at Garden Grove Seventh-day Adventist Church (4 years), Pastor Koh performs regular pastoral responsibilities and duties for the wider LLU church as well as pursuing her specific assignment with seventh and eighth graders. For them she plans, coordinates and leads programs for Sabbath school, Tuesday night Bible studies, and social and outreach events. She speaks with conviction about her commitment to provide "a safe, fun and loving environment for these kids as they grow in all areas of life and especially as they meet and learn about Jesus."

Junior high students, exploring ever widening vistas of their own lives, happily accepted Pastor Koh's news that on October 2010 she would be marrying Michael Isidro, business owner of J. Michael Media and Caribe Rush. It's one more enthusiasm that Pastor Koh has shared with her young parishioners.

Responsibilities at LLUC: Planning, coordinating and leading programs for Sabbath School, Tuesday night bible studies, social and outreach events for the junior high students – 7th and 8th graders. Provide a safe, fun and loving environment for these kids as they grow in all areas of life and especially as they meet and learn about Jesus.
